The Clark County animal control officer is Tammy See. Tammy picks up dogs in the rural areas of the county and takes them to the Clark County Animal Shelter. The Clark County Animal Shelter is owned and operated by Jim and Kim Bender. The shelter takes stray animals picked by animal control but is not required to take owner surrender dogs. The shelter will however, take owner surrenders for a fee and upon their discretion and if space is available. There are no provisions for any animal except dogs at the shelter. They accept no wild animals and no cats. Tammy’s number is 217-264-0169 .
Eligible dogs will be adopted out through the Clark County Animal Shelter per the Illinois Department of Agriculture Laws and Regulations. Adoptable dogs can be viewed on the shelter's facebook page.
Animal control in the cities will be handled by the city- not by the county animal control officer.
Notify the local police for these calls.
