Information on adopting a dog from the County Animal Shelter
(217) 826-1380
|
The Clark County animal control officer mainly picks up
dogs in the rural areas of the county and
takes them to the county dog pound. Dogs that are harassing livestock or just strays may
be picked up by calling Randy Miller at (217) 826-2752. Randy asks that pickups be
confined to regular week-days, although he will pick up animals on an emergency basis on
week-ends. The pound has no provisions for wild "critters" such as
raccoons, possums, etc.
NEW -The County Animal Shelter does have facilities to accommodate
cats.
Animal
control in the cities is handled by the city -
not by the county animal control officer.
